The boso ABI system measures blood pressure in both arms and both legs simultaneously and calculates the ankle-brachial index (ABI) – the ratio of ankle to arm blood pressure. Because all four cuffs operate at the same time, the measurement takes only a few minutes, and the four values are derived from the same circulatory state.
With this upgrade, the system also measures pulse wave velocity. This describes how quickly the pressure wave of the heartbeat travels through the artery.
The upgrade is retrofitted to an existing boso ABI system. Those purchasing a new system should choose the ABI system that already includes pulse wave measurement – we offer both options.
